It is mentioned in the Quran that we (humans) are made out of clay – a material that is malleable and soft, yet at the same time can be hardened and glazed when fired. When we understand the properties and types of clays, we place them in circumstances that works the best for each type. Similarly, for human beings to flourish and work best, it is only crucial for us to understand ourselves first and what it means to be you.

In this 3-part workshop, uncover and embody what it means to Be ME through the layered process and properties of airdry clay. We will explore psychological and Islamic themes on what it means to be, to mold and shape the person we are created to be, and to embody the you in living this world – not just surviving.

Session 1: Be (begin/being/become)

Begin your journey as a human being and the potentials that you can become into when you allow yourself to be understood as the person you are meant to be.

Session 2: Mold and Shape

Upon understanding who you are as an individual and member of society, you need to put in the effort to allow yourself to be you. The process of being you requires significant and consistent effort in shaping and molding the properties and qualities that you possess.

Session 3: Embody

What differentiates a person that is genuinely comfortable being themselves to those that force themselves to a cookie cutter mold is their sense of embodiment and attunement to who they are as an individual amongst a sea of other beings.
